Robinson Township, along the Pittsburgh airport corridor is one of the fastest growing communities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Just minutes from downtown Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh International Airport, Robinson Township offers residents and businesses many outstanding amenities. Robinson Township is home to first-class schools, higher education, shopping and dining, and sports and recreational facilities. New business growth lends itself to greater resources for employment opportunities and updated public transportation is accessible on major arteries and shopping centers. _________________________________________________
Robinson Township Parks & Recreation Board presents Light Up Night 2008 on Friday, December 5 from 6-7 p.m. at Clever Park. Join us for Christmas carols sung by the Montour High School Chorus, refreshments, and of course, arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus on the Forest Grove Fire Department fire truck. In the spirit of giving, help us help those adults in need by joining forces with "Helping Hands" by bringing a donation of new hats, scarves and gloves. And, many thanks to Clearview Credit Union for helping to sponsor this event.

Robinson Twp. Autumn Festival Sept 20, 2008.
What a great event! Our neighbors brought their appetites for a large variety of foods -- hot sausage, gyros, pierogies, haluski, kielbasa, ribs, burgers, ham BBQ, corn on the cob, sweet treats, kettle corn, ice cream, baked goods, funnel cakes. All these foods were provided by local businesses or booster/sports organizations. Plenty of informational booths, spinal screenings, Going Home Greyhounds, Avon & Mary Kay products, crafts, and games. Robinson’s finest were on hand -- Forest Grove, Groveton and Moon Run Volunteer Fire Departments, Police and EMS. See Slideshow 1, Slideshow 2 & Slideshow 3.

Winter of 2008-2009 may cause utility bills for our community residents to increase. The Commonwealth has programs in place to help in a number of ways -- help with heating bill payments, restoration of terminated service, financial assistance to repair residential heating systems, and more. The Homestead Act or "Act 50" Exclusion provides property tax relief to homeowners whose permanent residence is in a participating taxing jurisdiction. To receive benefits you must register for the Exclusion as the first broad-based distribution of "state gaming funds" through the PA Tax Payer Relief Act will occur in 2009. Registered homeowners in the Montour School District can expect real estate tax relief in the amount of $124.00. The Homestead Exclusion is intended to ensure that real estate property tax reductions benefit the homeowner first and allows for the first $15,000 of their primary residence to be exempt from County taxes (saves about $40-50 per year). Many homeowners in our community are NOT registered. If you don't know if you are registered, go to the Allegheny Real Estate Assessment site here, locate your property and the bottom left it will indicate "yes" or "no" next to Homestead. If you are not registered, you can view and print a registration form and instructions here. The deadline for registering is March 1, for current year distributions -- and you only need to register once.
